Vintner Carl Tiedemann’s Tasting Notes
Winemaker Sean Larkin and I share the same great passion for wine. We strive for that passion to be evident in the wines we make. Sean has done a wonderful job of interpreting the taste and structure I want in my flagship wine: the Tiedemann Signature Series Red Wine. The 2010 Tiedemann is a beautifully crafted Bordeaux-style blended wine. This is a complex wine possessing all the elements of greatness, including individuality, elegance and a compelling richness. The smooth mouth feel of this wine offers a soft velvety texture which is pleasing to the palate and provides a long harmonious finish like our previous vintages. This wine will improve in the bottle and should drink well for many years to come.
Winemaker Sean Larkin’s Tasting Notes
The 2010 is the third vintage of the Tiedemann Signature Series Red Wine. This is a sumptuous, Bordeaux inspired red varietal composite crafted to showcase the power and finesse of Napa Valley. Expect rich, beautiful aromatics followed by a full, velvety mouthfeel complimented by warm and toasty oak and refined tannins. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, the wine telegraphs the power of the varietal and will easily age well for the next 10-12 years, but is in complete balance for decanting and drinking today.
